About This Event

This has been a record-shattering year for U.S. solar power: we added nearly 33 gigawatts of solar capacity in 2023. New Hampshire is no exception to this trend: solar installations rose by 40 percent from 2022 to 2023. This low-cost variable generation is lowering electricity rates, but as the share of energy coming from variable sources rises, we must begin to ask ourselves, "how will we keep the lights on as the transition to a system with large amounts of variable resources comes online?"

Join Clean Energy NH for an evening of networking and learning, as we discuss three cutting edge solutions that will help to ensure the future reliability of our highly electrified society.

PANELISTS:

  • Rachel Wilson, Form Energy: Form Energy has made a huge splash by announcing that they will build low-cost, grid-scale batteries that can discharge for 100 hours straight. Learn about their revolutionary battery chemistry and what it means for the most difficult challenge in New England: long cold periods in the winter.

  • Chris Rauscher, Sunrun: The nation's first battery virtual power plants were activated right here in New England. By consolidating power from distributed solar and residential storage, Sunrun creates a flexible network for grid support during peak demand or disruptions. This decentralized model empowers consumers, promotes sustainability, and strengthens grid reliability in an era demanding adaptability.

  • Sarah Herbert, LineVision: LineVision is a rapidly growing climate tech company, enabling enhanced grid flexibility, resilience and security with Grid Enhancing Technologies (GETs). These solutions present a cost-effective solution for New England's decarbonization efforts by minimizing the required investments in the transmission system. These technologies optimize the existing grid infrastructure, enhancing its capacity and efficiency without the need for extensive physical upgrades.

Light refreshments and a cash bar available. Networking will take place before and after the event. Seating is limited, tickets are required.
